New York Yankees Provide Poor Injury Update on Harrison Bader
The New York Yankees have taken the first two games of the series from the Seattle Mariners, but the news isn't all good.
Manager Aaron Boone said post-game on Tuesday that outfielder Harrison Bader will likely be out a few weeks with a right hamstring injury.
He sustained the injury beating out an infield hit on Monday night in the win.
His absence is a noteworthy one for the Yankees lineup as Bader is hitting .267 this season with six home runs and 19 RBI. He's added six stolen bases.
For his career, he's a .246 hitter with 58 homers and 196 RBI.
He made his major league debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017 and stayed there until being traded to the Yankees in 2022.
The Yankees started the newly-acquired Greg Allen in his place in Tuesday's 10-2 win. Allen homered.
New York also hopes to get Giancarlo Stanton back from the injured list soon, which could alleviate the loss of Bader. He started his rehab assignment on Tuesday.
New York is now 34-23 on the season and in third place in the American League East. They trail the first-place Rays by 5.0 games and the second-place Orioles by 2.0 games.
The Yankees and Mariners will finish out their series on Wednesday night as George Kirby pitches for the home team and Clarke Schmidt pitches for the Bronx Bombers.
First pitch is slated for 9:40 p.m. ET.
Seattle has now lost two straight and trails the first-place Texas Rangers by 7.5 games in the American League West.
