He then added in a separate tweet that manager Aaron Boone told his MLB Network Radio show the news.
Stanton left Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins after hitting a double.
In a corresponding move, Oswald Peraza has been recalled from Triple-A.
The 33-year-old Stanton is a five-time all-star, a two-time silver slugger, a home run derby champion and he won the National League MVP in 2017 with the Marlins.
For his career, he's a .264 hitter with 382 home runs. He pairs with Aaron Judge to make one of the most dangerous home run duos in the entire sport.
For this season, he's out to a .269 start with four home runs.
As for Peraza, he made his major league debut in 2022, hitting .306 in a 49 at-bat sample.
