With the All-Star festivities in Seattle this summer, a pair of former Mariners will manage during the Futures Game, which showcases some of the best young talent in the sport.

Major League Baseball announced Harold Reynolds will manage the American League team while Raul Ibanez will manage the National League team.

The Futures Game used to pit the best US talent against the World, but recently switched to an AL/NL format. The rosters are not out yet.

Kyle Glaser of Baseball America had the information on Twitter:

From yesterday: Former Mariners Raul Ibañez and Harold Reynolds will serve as managers at the 2023 Futures Game in Seattle. Reynolds will be the AL manager and Ibañez will be the NL manager.

Reynolds had a 12-year major league career including the first 10 with the Mariners. He was a .258 career hitter who was named to two American League All-Star teams. He also won three Gold Glove awards.

He's been a longtime baseball broadcaster, working at both ESPN and the MLB Network in his career.

As for Ibanez, he had a 19-year major league career, spending 11 years in Seattle across three different stints.

He played for the Mariners from 1996-2000 before going to Kansas City from 2001-2003. He came back to Seattle for 2004-2008, then went to Philadelphia and New York. He spent 2013 in Seattle before ending in 2014 with the Angels and Royals.

He hit 305 career home runs and was named an All-Star in 2009 with the Phillies.

The Futures Game will be played Saturday, July 8 at 7 p.m. ET. This will be the first time that Seattle has hosted All-Star week since 2001.
