Texas Rangers' Minor Leaguer Goes Viral For Insanely Long Name That Barely Fits on Uniform
The new Major League Baseball uniforms have gotten almost universal grief over the last week. First, they reportedly don't fit right. Then, they are too thin, with people being able to see through a players' pants. Then, the lettering and numbering look cheap - and small - in comparison to their predecessors.
However in the case of Texas Rangers' minor leaguer Logan Bursick-Harrington, the small lettering him did him a solid, because his name wouldn't have been able to fit on his uniform otherwise.
Look at the picture from Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News:
That brings us back to the 2023 season when the Cincinnati Reds brought up Christian Encarnacion-Strand. His name was so long, that his initial jersey just said "Encarnacion" on it.
As for Bursick-Harrington, he is embarking on his first professional spring training. The right-handed pitcher was signed by Texas as an undrafted free agent after playing collegiately at Division II Davenport College (Michigan).
He threw in 31 career games in college, tossing 32.2 innings. He had an 8.82 ERA but clearly the Rangers have seen something in him to make them want to give him a chance. After signing with the Rangers, he played in one game at the Arizona Complex League, giving up two earned runs in one inning of work.
As for the Rangers at the major league level, they are coming off the organization's first-ever World Series victory. They defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games and will look to repeat this year.
