Team USA has finalized its roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
Led by manager Mark DeRosa, Team USA hopes to defend its crown, having won the last WBC that took place in 2017. Marcus Stroman was named the MVP of the WBC Championship in 2017, but Stroman will not be pitching for the US. Instead, he will join Team Puerto Rico, who Team USA defeated in the championship game of the 2017 event.
Team USA will feature stars Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, Trea Turner and several others.
Adam Wainwright, who made his Major League debut in 2005, before the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006, will be pitching for Team USA for the first time in his 17 year MLB career.
