The Atlanta Braves have dealt with numerous injuries in the early going of the season, and now they are going to be dealing with one more.

Starting catcher/DH Travis d'Arnaud is headed to the 7-day concussion injured list and will join starting pitchers Max Fried, Kyle Wright and Ian Anderson, as well as closer Raisel Iglesias and star outfielder Michael Harris II as Braves currently unable to play.

d'Arnaud was involved in a collision at home plate in Saturday's loss to the San Diego Padres.

He's off to a great start this season so this is another loss for the Braves, who are currently 6-3. He's hitting .355 in the early going while playing at both catcher and designated hitter.

d'Arnaud is in his 11th season in the majors. He's spent part of seven years with the New York Mets, part of one year with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays, and is in his fourth year with the Braves.

He's a lifetime .253 hitter with a 97 career home runs and 356 RBIs.

His absence will give more time to Sean Murphy, who was acquired this offseason from the Oakland Athletics, but has thus far disappointed.

He's hitting just .176 and has only gotten 17 at-bats in nine games. He's got no home runs and two RBI at this point, after hitting 18 homers a season ago and driving 37 doubles.

Chadwick Tromp was called up from AAA to take d'Arnaud's spot. He's played in 34 career major league games with the Braves and Giants since 2020. He also just represented the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the World Baseball Classic.

He's a lifetime .241 hitter at the major league level, with five RBIs.

The Braves take on the Padres tonight on 'Sunday Night Baseball.'

First pitch is 7 p.m. ET.
