With another home run on Friday night, Boston Red Sox star Rafael Devers continued his career-long dominance of New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole.

ESPN Stats & Info has more on Twitter:

Rafael Devers has 7 career HR vs Gerrit Cole, more than twice as many as he has off of any other pitcher. Devers 7 HR and 16 RBI off of Gerrit Cole are the most of any batter that Cole has faced in his career.

Perhaps seeing Cole is just what Devers needed to get back on track. After hitting 10 home runs in April, that was just his fourth home run since. For the year, the 26-year-old third baseman now has 14 homers, 51 RBI and is hitting .247. He's posted a .792 OPS as well.

For his career, he's a .280 hitter with 153 homers and 506 RBI.

He made his major league debut in 2017 and is a two-time All-Star. He also helped the Red Sox win the 2018 World Series, when they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers.

At the time of this posting, the Red Sox lead the Yankees by a score of 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning. In addition to the Devers home run, the Sox have gotten a homer from Enrique Hernandez and a single from Tristan Casas.

If the Red Sox hold onto win this game, they'll move to .500 at 32-32. They are in last place in the American League East.

The two teams will play again Saturday at 7:35 p.m. ET.
