Marcus Stroman has an MLB-leading 14 quality starts over 16 outings. He has now worked shutout ball in six of those starts and owns a 2.28 ERA this season. #Ace
Stroman is in his second year in Chicago after signing before the 2022 season. He's spent nine years playing in the majors, but 10 around Major League Baseball. He didn't play during the 2020 pandemic-shortened season. He's spent 5.5 years with the Blue Jays, 1.5 with the Mets and these two with the Cubs.
For his career, he's 76-71 with a 3.51 ERA. He was a first-round selection of the Blue Jays in the 2012 draft out of Duke University. He made his debut in 2014.
The Cubs and Pirates will play day baseball on Wednesday as Kyle Hendricks pitches against lefty Rich Hill.
First pitch from PNC Park is at 12:35 p.m. ET.
