Chances of a Trade For This Chicago White Sox Star Reportedly "Increasing"
According to MLB Network Insider Jon Morosi, the chances of the Chicago White Sox trading star infielder Jon Morosi are "increasing."
Per Morosi on Twitter:
The chances of a Tim Anderson trade are increasing, especially if he plays 2B, as in the WBC.
Anderson has slashed .375/.444/.417 since the break.
That's a small sample size, but teams have been wanting to see evidence that his approach is back.
The White Sox have been reluctant to say they are selling because they play in the mediocre American League Central and have always felt they've had a chance to get back in the race, but at 10.0 games back now, it seems as if the writing is on the wall for Chicago.
While Anderson has been hot out of the break, he's had a bad season by his standards. He's hitting just .236 with no home runs, 16 RBI and nine steals. He's also battled some injuries as well.
Lifetime, he's a much more accomplished .283 hitter with 97 homers, 329 RBI and 113 stolen bases.
He's also a two-time All-Star selection, a Silver Slugger winner and a batting champion.
Any number of teams could use Anderson for the stretch run, but Morosi didn't name any specific suitors.
He is under team control through the 2024 season via a team option so a team could be acquiring him for more than just this year, which is always appealing.
Anderson's current team, the White Sox, will play the Twins on Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. ET.
