Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame to Induct Three New Members on Saturday
The Cincinnati Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night in a battle for first place in the National League Central.
After the Brewers made history in a 1-0 win on Friday, the two teams are now each 50-42.
But before the big game, the Reds have some special business to take care of: inducting three new members into the team's Hall of Fame.
The Reds will welcome former reliever Danny Graves, former starter Bronson Arroyo and former general manager Gabe Paul into the newest class.
Graves spent 11 years in the big leagues with the Reds, Mets and the Cleveland franchise.
He spent nine years with the Reds, saving 182 games. He also won 39 career games in Cincy.
As for Arroyo, he spent 16 years in the big leagues with the Pirates, Red Sox, Reds, and Diamondbacks, including nine with Cincy. While with the Reds, he was 108-100 with a 4.18 ERA. He threw more than 1,760 innings and was named an All-Star in 2006. He also pitched on two Reds playoff teams (2010, 2012).
Paul served as general manager from 1951-1960.
The Reds say that the following dignitaries are scheduled to attend the ceremony:
Johnny Bench
Marty Brennaman
David Concepcion
Eric Davis
Dan Driessen
George Foster
Cesar Geronimo
Wayne Granger
Tommy Helms
Barry Larkin
Jim Maloney
Dave Parker
Tony Perez
Jose Rijo
Pete Rose
Chris Sabo
Mario Soto
First pitch of that game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET as Freddy Peralta pitches for Milwaukee and Andrew Abbott goes for the Reds.
