Cincinnati Reds' Joey Votto Gets Emotional Curtain Call After Possible Final Home At-Bat
The Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon 4-2 to move to 80-77 on the season.
With the win, the Reds are still 2.5 games back of the third and final wild card spot in the National League as we hit the final week of the season.
Aside from the playoff race, the other big story of the day was Reds' legend Joey Votto, who went 1-for-3 in his possible final home game at Great American Ball Park.
While it's not a definite that Votto is done in baseball, or in Cincinnati, it was a nice moment when Votto was given a curtain call after singling in his possible final home at-bat.

Votto is hitting .205 this season through 205 at-bats. He was on the injured list multiple times this year but has still managed to hit 14 home runs and drive in 38 while posting a .748 OPS.
There are multiple different options for Votto this offseason:
1) The Reds surprisingly exercise his $20 million option and he stays in the fold for 2024.
2) The Reds decline the option for 2024 but Votto comes back anyways at a different price.
3) The Reds decline the option and Votto signs elsewhere.
4) Retirement
Lifetime, Votto is a .295 hitter. He's hit 356 career home runs and driven in 1,144 runs. He's led the league in on-base percentage in seven different seasons.
The Reds will take on the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night at 6:10 p.m. ET.
