Colorado Rockies Fans Charge at Atlanta Braves Star Ronald Acuna Jr.
A scary scene unfolded on Monday night in Colorado as Rockies fans charged at Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr.
Before the bottom of the seventh inning at Coors Field, fans came out and approached Acuna, with one going to the ground with Acuna before security escorted the fans out.
It appeared as if a first fan came out and wanted to take a selfie with Acuna and wrapped him in a bear hug. Acuna then went to the ground with the fan.
You can view the scene below from Bally Sports South.
Acuna stayed in the game after the incident and was seen smiling.
After the game, Braves star Austin Riley told Bally Sports Braves that he was happy nothing more serious happened.
"Ronnie is safe. He means so much to us, so I'm thankful nothing serious happened." @austinriley1308 on tonight's incident with Ronald Acuña Jr.
The Braves won the game by a lopsided 14-4 margin. Acuna Jr. went 4-for-5 with five RBI. The Braves had 18 hits in the win. In addition to Acuna's big game, Orlando Arcia, Sean Murphy, Michael Harris II and Riley each had multiple hits.
According to Sarah Langs, Acuna Jr. became the ninth player since 1920 to have four hits, five RBI and two stolen bases in the same game.
His stolen bases put him to 60 on the season.
The Braves are now 85-45 and own the best record in all of baseball. They are chasing their second World Series title since 2021.
