At the time of this posting, the Cincinnati Reds lead the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-5, in the top of the ninth inning.

While a win for the Reds would be huge given the stakes of the matchup in the National League Central, the most memorable part of the game was provided in a unique sequence by Reds young phenom Elly De La Cruz.

De La Cruz stole second base, and then took third, which you can see here. Immediately following his steal of third, he took home without a pitch even being thrown.

De La Cruz took third without a throw from the catcher and then appeared to capitalize on some laziness from the Brewers in taking home.

In addition to his running prowess, De La Cruz is 2-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Again, at the time of this posting, he's hitting .331 with four homers, 16 RBI and 16 stolen bases since being called up just over a month ago.

His promotion has coincided with the Reds recent run of good play. The team has catapulted from under .500 into first place in the division.

If they hold onto this lead, they'll move to 50-40 on the season and would be 2.0 games up on Milwaukee with the series finale to come on Sunday.

That game will be played at 2:10 p.m. ET at American Family Field. The Reds have not named a starting pitcher while the Brewers will go with veteran lefty Wade Miley.

Then, it's off to the All-Star break.
