The New York Yankees enter play on Friday at 60-61. They are in last place in the American League East and have seen their playoff odds fall to 2.3 percent (per Fangraphs).

The Yankees are also 24-36 in their last 60 games, the worst 60-game stretch for the franchise since 1992.

With this fall-off, several Yankees fans are calling for the removal of Aaron Boone as manager and/or Brian Cashman as general manager.

Speaking on Thursday with 'The Brady Farkas Show,' ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney discussed the future for the organization.

"....I know that Brian Cashman is probably safe because he's in the first year of a four-year deal. I know that he has high regard for Aaron Boone, I know that Hal Steinbrenner has high regard for Aaron Boone, but the fanbase in New York is going to be looking for signs of change. Is this going to be a situation where Hal Steinbrenner is effectively going to throw meat to the mob and say "we hear you and we're going to change managers (cut off)."

Boone has been the Yankees manager since 2018, going 487-342 and leading the Yanks to the playoffs in his first five years.

As for Cashman, he's been the Yankees GM since 1998. He helped the Yankees win the World Series in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2009.

The Yankees will start a weekend series with the Boston Red Sox on Friday night at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.

Brayan Bello will pitch for Boston. No Yankees starter has been announced as of yet.
