Tonight is an exciting night in Miami as Marlins top prospect Eury Perez will make his major league debut when the Marlins take on the Cincinnati Reds.

Perez, the No. 10 overall prospect in baseball was called up this week. We chronicled the cool call-up video that the Marlins posted here.

Perez will wear No. 39 and the team posted a photo of his first uniform sitting in his locker.

Since Perez is making his debut during a home Friday night, that means he'll get to do it while wearing the throwback 1990s Marlins uniforms, an extra bonus!

Perez went 3-1 with a 2.32 at Double-A this season before the call-up.

From MLB.com:

Pérez's combination of size, stuff and polish is tough to top, starting with a fastball that parks at 94-97 mph and peaks at 100 and plays even better than its velocity thanks to its shape, running action and induced vertical break. His deceptive upper-80s changeup is just as nasty, generating an outstanding 61 percent swing-and-miss rate in 2022 thanks to its fade and tumble. After featuring an upper-70s curveball in the past, he added a tighter mid-80s slider last season that grades as plus more consistently than his bender.

The Marlins are currently 19-19 and in second place in the National League East. Perez will be opposed by Reds right-hander Graham Ashcraft, who is 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA.

The Reds enter this matchup at 16-21 overall. They are in fourth place in the National League Central.
