Former New York Mets Ace Noah Syndergaard Reportedly Interested in Heading Overseas

According to reports, former New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard could end up in Korea or Japan as he looks to resurrect his career.

Per the Yakyu Cosmpolitan on social media:

RHP Noah Syndergaard has expressed interest in pitching in NPB or KBO for a year, believing it could help him reset his career.

Thor says he holds respect for both Japan and Korea.

Though Syndergaard has been in the baseball consciousness for a decade at this point, he's still only 32 years old, so there is time for him to continue his career and solve the issues that have plagued him in recent years.

Guys like Nick Martinez, Chris Flexen and Erick Fedde have all gone to Asia, turned in solid performances, and returned back to the US for steady jobs and good money.

As for Syndergaard, he did not pitch at all in the 2024 season. An eight-year veteran of the Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians, he's 59-47 lifetime with a 3.71 ERA. He's bounced around since 2022 but he is best-known for his run with the Mets from 2015-2019. He helped the Mets get to the World Series in that 2015 season, pairing at one time with Matt Harvey and Zack Wheeler to make one of the most intriguing rotations of the last 10 years.

A one-time All-Star, Syndergaard won a career-high 14 games back in the 2016 season. He has won double-digit games four times in his career.

Unfortunately, injuries have been part of his career. He missed significant time in 2017 and underwent Tommy John surgery in 2020.
