Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jose Berrios may not have pitched on Sunday, but he wasn't going to miss a chance to rep some awesome Father's Day cleats during his start on Monday.

The team tweeted out a picture of the cleats, which were done in an awesome blue color, and had the words "toughest Dad ever" painted on them. The "A" in dad was in the shape of a ribbon, making the cleats a powerful statement as well. 

Berrios is sporting those cleats in a start against the Miami Marlins on Monday.

At the time of this posting, the Marlins lead the Blue Jays by a score of 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning. Berrios has allowed three earned runs on six hits while registering four strikeouts.

This start aside, it's been a bounceback year for Berrios. After posting an ERA of 5.23 in 2022 and leading the league in hits allowed and earned runs allowed, he's gone 7-4 this season with a 3.28 ERA (entering Monday). The eight-year veteran has spent parts of six years with the Minnesota Twins and parts of three with the Jays.

He signed a seven-year, $131 million contract extension with Toronto before the 2022 season.

The Blue Jays entered play on Monday at 39-34 and in fourth place in the American League East. They were just 0.5 games behind the Yankees for third.

Miami entered play at 41-31 and 5.0 games back of the Braves in the National League East. They hold the top spot right now in the NL Wild Card picture.
