Kevin Kiermaier of Toronto Blue Jays Gives Fan Memory of a Lifetime
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier gave one Jays fan the memory of a lifetime on Tuesday night.
The veteran, in his first year in Toronto, was seen giving a young fan a pair of his batting gloves. The fan was in disbelief while Kiermaier was seen smiling at the fan.
The video caught the attention of the Jomboy Media account and caught the attention of noted MLB researcher Sarah Langs, who tweeted: "BASEBALL IS THE BEST."
It was easy to be all smiles in this one as the Blue Jays were leading the White Sox, 6-0, in the bottom of the fourth inning at the time.
As for Kiermaier, he's off to a good start in his new surroundings, hitting .308 with 20 hits in 65 at-bats. He also has a home run for the streaking Jays, who entered play at 14-9.
He spent parts of 10 years with the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays, winning three gold glove awards. He also got MVP votes in 2015. He's a lifetime .249 hitter with 83 homer, 324 RBI and 113 stolen bases.
We've written about Kiermaier already this year at Fastball, as he made an early push for catch of the year when he made this great play against the Detroit Tigers earlier in April.
As for the game today, the Jays have gotten a two-run triple from Kiermaier, and two home runs from Danny Jansen.
