In the last five years, the Boston Red Sox have won a World Series title (2018) and advanced to an American League Championship Series (2021), but they've also finished last in the American League East twice (2020 and 2022) and missed the playoffs in 2019.

The two last-place finishes in 2020 and 2022 have come under the leadership of Chaim Bloom as Chief Baseball Officer and many Red Sox fans have grown frustrated with Bloom's leadership and direction of the franchise.

It also doesn't appear to be getting any better. The Red Sox are seen by many as a team that will finish fourth or fifth in the division again this year, and already entered play on Saturday at seven games back in the division.

Recently, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe called the Sox players a "collection of spare parts."

Speaking on Friday on 'The Brady Farkas Show' on WDEV Radio, ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney said that the problems are not all Bloom, and a lot of this falls on owner John Henry.

You can hear Olney's comments below and can read a portion of them HERE:

"It's not about Chaim Bloom. To me, it's about John Henry. He will now be tested as we move forward, what his level of patience is. I don't think you can ask a fanbase in Philadelphia or New York or in Boston to sit back and wait six-to-eight years for your team to completely rebuild..."

The Red Sox entered play on Saturday at 6-8 overall. At the time of this posting, they trailed the Angels, 7-6, in the top of the sixth inning.
