Mike Trout Shares First Look at Private Golf Course Designed With Tiger Woods
Mike Trout may be going through a tumultuous season on the diamond, but he is staying active off of it.
The Los Angeles Angels outfielder took to social media Friday morning to share the latest update on his private golf course, Trout National – The Reserve. Course routing has been finalized, according to Trout, who initially announced the project back in March.
Trout partnered with Tiger Woods and his company, TGR Design, to build the course, which is expected to open in 2025. Trout, Woods and chief design director Beau Welling visited the site in a hype video Trout posted Friday.
The course is located in Vineland, New Jersey. Trout was born in Vineland and went to Millville Senior High School, just a few miles away from the course.
Trout National will be a par 72 course with four par 3s and four par 5s, according to Golf Digest.
Trout, an 11-time All-Star and three-time AL MVP, has appeared in just 82 games this season due to injury. The future Hall of Famer is currently batting a career-worst .263 with a career-low .858 OPS.
Since breaking into the big leagues in 2011, Trout has racked up 1,624 hits, 368 home runs, 310 doubles, 52 triples, 206 stolen bases, 964 walks, 940 RBI, 1,106 runs and an 85.2 WAR with a .301 batting average and .994 OPS. He leads all active players in WAR and OPS while also ranking top 10 in home runs, triples, runs, walks and stolen bases.
Trout, who was officially placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to Aug. 23 on Friday, won't be able to return to the Angels' lineup until Sept. 2 against the Oakland Athletics at the earliest.
