Another day, another unreal achievement for Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani.

Playing against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night, Ohtani hit a home run a whopping 493 feet, marking the longest home run hit in baseball this season. That was his 30th of the season.

James Smyth of the YES Network tweeted about the stat - with a little extra flavor attached to it.

Ohtani 493!

So the guy who just passed Giancarlo Stanton for the longest home run of the MLB season also has a 3.02 ERA in 95.1 IP with 127 strikeouts and a .180 opponent batting average

Just another day in the life of the best player in the world. Ohtani leads baseball in home runs and just earned another All-Star Game selection.

Throw in that he helped lead Team Japan to the World Baseball Classic championship this spring and that he's headed for a $500-600 million payday this offseason, and this is certainly the year of Ohtani. He's also quite likely headed for his second career MVP Award.

Ohtani will get a chance to do more historic things on Saturday when the Angels host the Diamondbacks at Angel Stadium.

First pitch in that game is scheduled for 10:07 p.m. ET. Ryne Nelson will pitch for the Diamondbacks while Tyler Anderson goes for the Angels. Nelson enters the matchup at 4-4 with a 4.97 ERA while Anderson is 4-2 with a 5.54 ERA.

Ohtani will not get a chance to pitch in this series. He's next scheduled to go in the following series against the San Diego Padres.
