Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts will wear the microphone on Sunday Night Baseball and be mic'd up when the Dodgers take on the San Diego Padres.

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET from Petco Park. ESPN confirmed the segment on its social media channels.

The inning that Betts will talk to the ESPN crew has not been revealed yet, but we know that he'll speak to Karl Ravech, Eduardo Perez, David Cone and Buster Olney.

ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball telecasts have done a great job this season at getting star players to participate in "mic'd up" segments. Most recently, Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies was mic'd up against the Houston Astros. Earlier this season, Astros catcher Martin Maldonado wore the microphone while catching against the Texas Rangers.

There's certainly a lot to talk with Betts about that would make for a fun in-game experience for fans, including his bowling ability and his time at the World Baseball Classic.

On the field, this is a big series for the Dodgers, who are currently in first place in the National League West (19-13). They've won eight of their last 10. San Diego is 17-15 and has won seven of its last 10. The Padres are 2.0 games back of Los Angeles.

As for Betts, he's off to another stellar start this season. He's hitting .270 with five home runs and 18 RBI through 115 at-bats. He's stolen one base as well.

He's always been an elite offensive player, winning the MVP in the American League in 2018. He's a six-time all-star and a lifetime .292 hitter with 218 home runs. He was acquired in a trade with the Red Sox in 2020.
