Tyler Glasnow has drawn the start for the Dodgers, while Yu Darvish is set to take the mound for the Padres.

Los Angeles swung a blockbuster trade to acquire Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays in December. Darvish, meanwhile, is a five-time All-Star entering his fourth season in San Diego.

Glasnow wasn't the biggest name the Dodgers picked up in the offseason, as they also signed two-time AL MVP Shohei Ohtani, Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernández. They join a star-studded roster that already included Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw, although the latter two are still recovering from injuries.

The Padres may not have spent quite as much money in free agency as the Dodgers, but they did make a few splashes. Japanese reliever Yuki Matsui joined the team in December, right after San Diego secured a handful of young players from the New York Yankees in return for star left fielder Juan Soto.

When Spring Training was already well underway, the Padres traded for longtime Chicago White Sox ace Dylan Cease, who isn't expected to pitch in Seoul since the trade came so late in the game.

The second and final game of the brief international series will take place Thursday morning, also at 6:05 a.m. ET. Yamamoto and Joe Musgrove have been pegged as the starting pitchers in the series finale.
