On Wednesday, Major League Baseball announced that fan voting for the 2023 All-Star Game is now open!
Around the same time, each team posted to Twitter encouraging fans to vote for their favorite players. This is what the Boston Red Sox put out.
Even if you don't want to vote for Red Sox players, the link above will take you to a general voting page where you can vote for who'd you like. You can also just click HERE for a direct link.
The All-Star Game will take place on July 11 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. This will be the third time that Seattle has hosted the All-Star Game, joining 1979 and 2001.
Of course, there's more to All-Star week than just the game. The Futures Game will take place on Saturday, July 8 while the MLB Draft will kick off on Sunday, July 9. Monday night, July 10, is the popular home run derby.
A reminder on how fan voting impacts the All-Star team, per MLB.com:
The nine starters in each league (remember, the NL has a DH now) are selected by the fans via two phases of voting. In Phase 1, fans vote on a full slate of players at each position and pick their top choice (three in the outfield) in each league at each position. The top overall vote-getters in each league are awarded starting spots and skip Phase 2.
In Phase 2 (a.k.a. the All-Star Ballot Finals), fans must select from the two finalists at each position (six in the outfield, though it was four 2022, as outfielders Aaron Judge and Ronald Acuña Jr. were the top vote-getters in each league), and the winners of these showdowns start the All-Star Game. Vote totals from Phase 1 do not carry over to Phase 2.
