After a sizzling last two weeks, Boston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida is now the favorite to win the American League Rookie of the Year award, according to the Fanduel Sportsbook.

The 29-year-old from Japan has a 14-game hitting streak for the red-hot Red Sox (19-14), who are on a six-game winning streak after sweeping the Blue Jays.

Yoshida was part of a historic series for the Sox against Toronto, which we covered here.

After a slow start in early April, he's now hitting .317 overall with six home runs. He leads Major League Baseball with 18 hits since April 20th.

The 29-year-old signed a five-year deal worth $90 million this offseason after posting a very solid resume in Japan. He is a lifetime .327 hitter in Japan and hit 133 career homers with 421 RBI. He also helped Team Japan win the World Baseball Classic this spring.

Here are the rest of the odds for Rookie of the Year in the AL:

Masataka Yoshida +240

Josh Jung +370

Anthony Volpe +750

Hunter Brown +850

Gunnar Henderson +1600

Tanner Bibee +1600

Jung is a third baseman for the Texas Rangers, who are in first place in the American League West. He's hitting .275 with eight home runs and 24 RBI.

Volpe is the young shortstop for the Yankees. He's hitting .221 with three home runs and 10 stolen bases.

Brown is a pitcher for the Houston Astros who is 3-1 with a 2.60 ERA.

Henderson is the young star for the Baltimore Orioles. He is hitting .190 with three home runs.

Bibee is the pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians. He just came up at the end of April and is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA.

Julio Rodriguez of the Mariners won the award a season ago.
