The Miami Marlins are helping out their fans -- and the local traffic -- by moving the start time of Wednesday's game.

The Marlins will now play the Kansas City Royals at 6:10 p.m. ET.

The reason is because of the NBA Finals, which is coming to Miami on Wednesday for Game 3. That game between the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets begins at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The Marlins put the information out on Twitter:

This is a good move by the Marlins, who now ease traffic around the city, and allow their fans to get home earlier to watch Game 3.

Furthermore, it also helps them. Marlins fans who want to watch the Heat can now still go to the baseball game, increasing attendance and revenue for the team.

The Marlins are one of the surprise teams in baseball this year, sitting at 32-28 entering play on Monday. They are in second place in the National League East and trail the Braves by just 3.5 games.

It coincides well with the Heat, one of the most surprising teams in NBA history. The Heat tied up the NBA Finals at 1-1 on Sunday by beating the Denver Nuggets. They are attempting to become the first No. 8 seed to win the NBA championship.

They had to win a play-in game just to even get into the playoffs.

This isn't the first time we've seen organizations do things like this. When the Boston Bruins were in the Stanley Cup Finals against the St. Louis Blues in 2019, the Red Sox moved game times to accommodate fans as well as local traffic.
