Minnesota Twins Reportedly Back in the Mix for Carlos Correa

Over two weeks after agreeing to terms on a 12-year, $315 million contract with the New York Mets, Carlos Correa's deal has yet to be finalized. As the Correa saga continues to play out, the Minnesota Twins are emerging as a potential destination for Correa to return to.

As the Carlos Correa saga continues to play out and his deal with the New York Mets still has yet to be finalized, the Minnesota Twins are emerging as a potential destination for Correa to return to.

Friday morning, The Athletic's Jim Bowden spoke on MLB Network radio about the possibility of a potential return to the Twins for Correa.

"There is a possibility the Minnesota twins come in and pick Correa out from under the New York Mets' noses," Bowden said Friday morning.

Correa signed a three-year, $105.3 million contract with the Minnesota Twins last March. The deal included a player opt-out after each season. Correa opted out after his first year with the club, making him a free agent once again this winter.

After agreeing to terms on a 13-year, $350 million contract with the San Francisco Giants in December, Correa's deal fell apart after his physical. He was scheduled to be introduced to the media at an introductory press conference. Hours later, Correa agreed to a pending contract with the Mets.

The Mets and Correa have engaged in talks since. Correa's physical with the Mets raised concerns for the club, and earlier this week, Ken Rosenthal reported that a potential Correa deal with the Mets could look drastically different than the contract that was originally reported.

It seems that if Correa is unable to get the deal he wants from the Mets, a return to Minnesota is now a possibility.
