New York Yankees' Aaron Judge Ties Alex Rodriguez in Team History
A wild game in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon has turned into a fun bit of Yankees history as slugger Aaron Judge has tied Alex Rodriguez for the 5th-most multi-home run games in team history.
Both Judge and A-Rod now have 29 multi-home run games in a Yankees uniform.
The Twitter account @nyyankeesstats put out:
Yankees most multi-HR games all-time:
68 Babe Ruth
46 Mickey Mantle
43 Lou Gehrig
35 Joe DiMaggio
29 Alex Rodriguez
29 Aaron Judge
The Rays, who are the best team in baseball right now, held a 6-0 lead before the Yankees mounted their comeback. Judge hit a two-run home run in both the fifth and sixth innings.
At the time of this posting, the Yankees lead 9-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
For Judge, he's now hitting .259 on the season. He's got seven home runs and 18 RBIs. He spent some time on the injured list with a hip issue and was activated earlier this week.
His presence obviously looms large for a Yankees team that has been ravaged by injuries. In addition to Judge, the team has been without Josh Donaldson and Giancarlo Stanton most of the year. Both players are still out.
The team also has dealt with injuries on the pitching front as Carlos Rodon hasn't pitched yet this year. Neither has Luis Severino, though he is working his way back currently. Frankie Montas may miss the entire season, as will reliever Lou Trivino.
If the Yankees are to win this game, they'll move to 23-18 on the season.
