Outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is Chicago White Sox's Lone Gold Glove Award Finalist

Luis Robert Jr. is up for another Gold Glove Award.
The first-time All-Star was the lone Chicago White Sox player to be named a finalist for the positional defensive honor Wednesday. Seattle Mariners superstar Julio Rodríguez and Toronto Blue Jays veteran Kevin Kiermaier are the other center fielder finalists in the American League.
Robert already has one Gold Glove on his shelf, winning it as a rookie in 2020.

Robert appeared in 143 games in 2023, playing center field in every single one of them. He posted a 1.2 dWAR, seven outfield assists and just one error, in addition to a .992 fielding percentage and six defensive runs saved.
Beyond the defensive numbers, one of the most notable aspects of Robert's campaign was his availability.
Robert played 56 out of 60 games in the COVID-shortened 2020 season, but he was only able to make 68 appearances in 2021. More injuries limited him to 98 games in 2022.
In 2023, Robert returned with a vengeance, posting career highs at the plate and in the field as a result of his more consistent health.
Robert ranks second among the three finalists in dWAR and defensive runs saved, with Kiermaier leading the group at 2.2 and 18, respectively. The veteran won three Gold Gloves with the Tampa Bay Rays before joining the Blue Jays this past offseason.
Rodriguez leads the trio in fielding percentage, while Robert once again ranks second in that category.
The full list of Gold Glove finalists can be found here.
Winners will be announced Nov. 5 on ESPN. Managers and coaches across the league make up the deciding voting body.
