Baseball in 2023, people.

Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster John Kruk isn't a huge fan of the new rules, evidently, and he made it known during Wednesday's game between the Phillies and the Diamondbacks.

In the top of the tenth inning, Diamondbacks batter Josh Rojas was nearly called out for a pitch clock violation. After some discussion, he wasn't, but clearly ended up using his timeout.

While he was taking his timeout and wasn't ready to hit, Phillies pitcher Craig Kimbrel stepped to the mound and came set, prompting HIM to get a violation for not allowing Rojas time to get ready to get hit.

That caused Kruk, who played for the Phillies and spent a number of years working for ESPN, to lose it. Awful Announcing put out a transcription of his thoughts and you can watch the whole clip below.

John Kruk has had enough of the new rules.

"Ah dear crap almighty!"

"What a joke! What a circus this game's turned into!"

"What the hell's Kimbrel supposed to do? This is a joke... keep making up rules until no one knows what's going on."

In the broadcaster's defense, it would be nice if the umpires told the broadcast team and the fans what's going on. Too often, we've all been left wondering.

The Phillies beat the Diamondbacks, 6-5, in those ten innings. They moved to 23-26 with the victory while the Diamondbacks fell to 29-21.

The Phillies will next travel to Atlanta for a critical series against the first-place Atlanta Braves.

First pitch is 7:20 p.m. ET. on Thursday.
