At the time of this posting, the Philadelphia Phillies lead the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-0, in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber hit a home run on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the first inning, continuing an impressive run over the last several games.

The home run set a personal best for Schwarber, and gave him a bigger lead in this aggressive statistical category:

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

With a leadoff home run today Kyle Schwarber has now homered in 4 straight games, the longest streak of his career.

It's his 10th HR on the first pitch of an at-bat this season, two more than any other player in MLB (Shohei Ohtani - 8).

While Schwarber is hitting for a very low average (.191), he is certainly living up to his end of the bargain in the power department. He's got 26 homers and 57 RBI and clearly has the ability to turn an at-bat around quickly.

He's in his ninth year in the majors with the Cubs, Nationals, Red Sox and Phillies. He's got a career .228 average with 225 homers and 501 RBI. He helped the Cubs win the World Series in 2016 and was a the No. 4 overall pick in the draft back in 2014.

This game has a lot of meaning to both teams. The Phillies entered play 0.5 games out the final wild card spot in the National League while the Brewers are leading the National League Central by 2.5 games at the time of this posting.
