You've heard of the broadcasters' jinx? When the broadcaster mentions some stat about how good a guy is at kicking field goals or making foul shots and then they immediately miss? Well, sometimes it works in reverse, too.

Such is the case on Tuesday as the Seattle Mariners play host to the Miami Marlins at T-Mobile Park.

Mariners broadcasters Aaron Goldsmith and Dave Sims were talking about M's catcher Cal Raleigh and how he was going to attempt to break out of a slump. Goldsmith immediately utilized a close-up on Raleigh's face to show the audience that Raleigh was going to break out of a slump by deploying a new mustache.

No quicker than he could finish that sentence did Raleigh hit a three-run homer to give the M's a 3-0 lead.

Mariners twitter user @MarinerMuse captured the moment on social media:

Please enjoy this beautiful Aaron Goldsmith and Dave Sims moment, where they predict Cal Raleigh's home run by asserting his new mustache to be a slump-buster

Raleigh certainly needed that home run, as did the Mariners. He had only hit one home run in his previous 14 games. For the season, he's got nine homers and 29 RBI to go along with a .214 average.

For his career, he's a .205 hitter with 38 homers and 105 RBI.

The M's are trying to move to .500 with the win, and are trying to keep pace in a very deep American League playoff field. They entered play at nine games behind the Rangers in the AL West and are currently 4.5 back in the wild card race.
