Seattle Mariners fans do not like the Houston Astros.

The Astros have dominated the American League West over the last several years, so M's fans are certainly jealous.

The Astros knocked the Mariners out of the playoffs in 2022, ending the dream season for the M's in which they finally ended their playoff drought.

And then there's the Astros social media team, which frustratingly takes shots at the Mariners whenever they get a chance.

There's also the fact that the M's can't beat the Astros in Houston as MinuteMaid Park is the Mariners' own personal house of horrors. We wrote about that on Thursday.

So when the Mariners beat the Astros on Thursday night, 5-1, you'd think Mariners fans would be happy. A little, but they are also fuming over a cheap play that occurred in the bottom of the ninth inning.

In the ninth inning with one out, Astros outfielder Chas McCormick hit a groundball in the hole between third and short. Mariners shortstop JP Crawford fielded the ball and tossed across to Ty France, who played the ball on a hop.

McCormick was out but Mariners fans on Twitter noticed that McCormick took a swipe at France's glove on the way to first. You can watch it below.

Firstly, that's an illegal play. You can't try to slap the ball out of a players glove. We saw that many years ago with A-Rod against the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS, you just can't do it. Furthermore, there's also potential injury involved. McCormick makes contact with France's arm, potentially putting his wrist, shoulder and elbow at risk.

France was OK, but that's not the point. The play was completely unncessary.

The two teams will play again on Friday at 8:10 p.m. ET.
