After a slow start to the season, Seattle Mariners star Julio Rodriguez has heated up in a big way.

In fact, over the last five games, he's accomplished something that only Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez have accomplished in an M's uniform.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Julio Rodriguez has 5 straight multi-hit games. He joins Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez as the only Mariners age 22 or younger to have multiple hits in 5 or more straight games.

Obviously, it's a small group of people that get called up by the age of 22 but when you do something that only Griffey and A-Rod have done, you're doing something right.

Rodriguez won the Rookie of the Year in the American League in 2022 and helped the Mariners make the playoffs, hitting 28 homers and driving in 75.

He was named to the All-Star team and finished second in the home run derby.

This year, he's hitting .242 with nine home runs, 28 RBI and nine stolen bases.

His hot streak has coincided with the Mariners playing better as well. The team has won six of its last seven games and is now 28-25 on the year. They have moved into third place in the American League West, 5.5 back of the Texas Rangers for first place and 3.5 back of the Astros for second place.

The Mariners will open up a new series on Monday against the New York Yankees. The Yankees are 32-23 and have won seven of their last 10.

First pitch is 9:40 p.m. ET.
