Seattle Mariners Starting Lineup, Pitcher vs. Colorado Rockies on Saturday
The Seattle Mariners are looking to take the series against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. The M's started a 10-game homestand with a 5-3 win over Colorado on Friday night and will send George Kirby to the mound looking to get game two.
The story of this one will be Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic, who is looking to homer in his fifth straight game. Kelenic also addressed all the fan support he's gotten this season as he looks to find steady traction at the major league level.
Here's the lineup for Seattle, who enters the game at 6-8:
1) Julio Rodriguez, CF
2) Ty France, 1B
3) Eugenio Suarez, 3B
4) Cal Raleigh, C
5) Teoscar Hernandez, RF
6) Jarred Kelenic, LF
7) Tommy La Stella, DH
8) Kolten Wong, 2B
9) JP Crawford, SS
SP) George Kirby (0-1, 4.35 ERA)
Colorado comes into this game at 5-9 and will send righty Ryan Feltner to the mound. He's 0-1 with a 7.45 ERA.
The interesting point of the Mariners lineup continues to be the use of La Stella at designated hitter against righties. He's hitting just .077 this year and you have to wonder if the team will move on from him once Dylan Moore comes back from injury. He's rehabbing now and could be headed for a rehab assignment next week.
Wong also continues to struggle offensively, hitting .105. Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto recently told Seattle Sports 710 Radio that he's not worried about Wong.
