NFL Legend Richard Sherman Goes Viral For His Reaction at Meeting Seattle Mariners Legend Ken Griffey Jr.
The Seattle Mariners beat the Kansas City Royals on Friday night by a score of 7-5 and while the game was great, the pre-game festivities were pretty cool too.
Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman threw out the first pitch and then went viral on social media for his reaction to getting a surprise visit from Ken Griffey Jr. himself.
That's Seattle royalty right there as Sherman helped lead the Seahawks to their only Super Bowl victory, and Griffey is one of the best players in baseball history.
He hit 630 career homers over a 22-year career with the Mariners, Reds and White Sox. He was a 13-time All-Star, a 10-time Gold Glover, an MVP and is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
As for Sherman, he spent 10 years in the NFL with the Seahawks, 49ers and Bucs. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and a three-time All-Pro selection. He was also named a member of the All 2010s Team.
He had 37 career interceptions and seven fumble recoveries over his illustrious career.
As for the Mariners, they are now 72-56 and tied for the lead in the American League West. They have won nine of their last 10 games and will take on the Royals again on Saturday afternoon.
First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. ET as Logan Gilbert (SEA) pitches against Jordan Lyles (KC).
Gilbert is 11-5 this year with a 3.77 ERA while Lyles is 3-14 with a 6.20 ERA.
Kansas City enters play at 41-89.
