Team Puerto Rico Posts Starting Lineup for WBC Game vs. Venezuela Sunday
Hot off a 9-1 victory Saturday over Team Nicaragua, the Puerto Rican National baseball team will play its second game of the World Baseball Classic Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. ET in Miami, Florida.
Sunday afternoon, Team Puerto Rico posted its lineup for Sunday night's game against Venezuela.
Puerto Rico will try to improve to 2-0 in the group stage of play in the WBC. Venezuela also picked up a 5-1 victory, over the Dominican Republic, in its first game Saturday night. Both teams have begun the tournament at 1-0, so something has to give.
It will be a battle between a former Minnesota Twins pitcher, Jose Berrios, and a newly acquired Twins pitcher, Pablo Lopez. The Twins acquired Lopez along with prospects in exchange for 2022 American League batting champion Luis Arraez. Arraez will line up alongside the player he was traded for Sunday, and throughout Venezuela's run in the World Baseball Classic. Arraez will start at second base Sunday.
