Cleveland Guardians pitching prospect Tanner Bibee made his Major League debut Wednesday afternoon, and he did not disappoint.

In the Guardians' series finale against the Colorado Rockies Wednesday, Bibee allowed just one earned run off six hits and no walks, striking out eight over 5.2 innings, picking up the first win of his career.

After dropping the first two games, Cleveland was able to salvage the series, defeating Colorado 4-1 Wednesday afternoon at Progressive Field.

Bibee is the no. 5 prospect in the Guardians' farm system, according to MLB Pipeline. He also is the no. 59 ranked prospect in all of baseball. Bibee, 24, was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft out of Cal-State Fullerton. In three starts in Triple-A, Bibee logged a 1.76 ERA, allowing just three runs over 15.1 innings pitched, earning the 6-foot-2 righty a promotion.

Guardians manager Terry Francona told reporters after Wednesday's game, that the club plans to keep Bibee at the Major League level.

Bibee is the fourth rookie to receive a start out of the Guardians' rotation this season, joining the likes of Hunter Gaddis, Peyton Battenfield and Logan Allen. Allen impressed in his debut on Sunday, striking out eight and allowing one run on five hits and a walk. The Guardians are down two starters right now, with Aaron Civale and Triston McKenzie both on the Injured List. Injuries to Civale and McKenzie has opened up opportunities for Guardians' rookies. Meanwhile, Cal Quantrill (1-2, 5.40 ERA) and Zach Plesac (1-1, 6.50 ERA) have struggled.
