The Toronto Blue Jays are putting the full-court press on to try to get starting shortstop Bo Bichette to be the starter in the All-Star Game.

And based on the tweet that the Jays put out on Saturday, it's fair to see the case he has to be the starter at the Midsummer Classic in Seattle.

Leads the AL in multi-hit games

Leads the AL in batting average

Named to MLB’s Team of the Month

Yeah, we'd say that's a pretty good start to the year for Bichette.

He's currently hitting .337 with 12 homers, 39 RBI, two stolen bases and a .907 OPS.

For his career, he's a .302 hitter with 81 homers, 278 RBI and 48 steals.

He made his major league debut in 2019 and has helped the Jays reach the postseason two times (2020 and 2022).

At the time of this posting, the Blue Jays and Mets are tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the first inning. Bichette is already 1-1 at the plate.

Jose Berrios is pitching for Toronto while Tylor Megill has the ball for New York.

Toronto entered the game at 31-27 on the season and in fourth place in the American League East while New York is 30-28 and tied for second in the National League East. They are 3.5 games behind the Braves and are tied with the Marlins.

The two teams finish up their series on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. ET.
