Toronto Blue Jays' Matt Chapman Reaches Impressive Career Milestone on Thursday

When we talk about Toronto Blue Jays star Matt Chapman, we generally talk about his Gold Glove defense, but here, we salute his effort at the plate.
Playing in a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday, Chapman connected on career home run No. 150.

The Jays swept the White Sox in the doubleheader, so it was a good day all around for Toronto.
For the season, Chapman is now hitting .262 with 12 homers, 39 RBI and three stolen bases. He still plays that great defense at third base as well.
Lifetime, the 30-year-old is a .243 hitter with the 150 homers and 411 RBI.
He's in his seventh season in the big leagues with the Oakland Athletics and the Blue Jays. He was traded to Toronto before the 2022 season and helped the Blue Jays make the playoffs, where they were beaten by the Seattle Mariners in the wild card round.
He's a former first-round pick of the A's (2014) out of Cal State Fullerton who made his debut in 2017.
After the sweep, the Jays are now 48-40 and tied for third place in the American League East. They are closing ground on the first-place Tampa Bay Rays, who have lost five straight games, but they are still 8.0 games back.
The Jays are also in a tie with the Yankees for the third and final wild card spot.
The Blue Jays will finish out the first half of the season this weekend with a series against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit.
Struggling starter Alek Manoah (1-7, 6.36 ERA) has been recalled to make that start. First pitch is 6:40 p.m. ET.
