Washington Nationals Go Viral For Hilarious Social Media Post Ahead of Little League Classic
The Washington Nationals are embracing their inner-Little League ahead of their weekend trip to Williamsport, Penn.
As part of a weekend series with the Philadelphia Phillies, the Nationals will play Sunday night's game against the backdrop of the Little League World Series. Prior to playing in the Little League Classic, the Nats and Phillies will spend time at the Little League complex and hang out with the Little Leaguers while watching some of the action.
The two teams will play the major league game at historic Bowman Field in front of all the Little Leaguers and their families. The game will be broadcast on "Sunday Night Baseball" for ESPN.
The Nationals put out a viral social media post on Friday in which players tried to guess their teammates based on their Little League photos.
Not bad at all! It seems as if the upstart Nationals know a lot of their teammates, which is good. The Nationals are a fun group in general, having won six of their last eight series and just taking two of three from the Boston Red Sox.
The Little League Classic has become one of the marquee events on the baseball calendar. It's a great way to grow the game and to break up the monotony of a long season.
There are 20 teams participating in the actual Little League World Series. There are 10 domestic teams and 10 international teams ranging from as close as Media, Penn. to as far as Chinese Taipei and Australia.
The Little World Series champion will be crowned on August 27.
