WATCH: Boston Red Sox' Adam Duvall Hits Long Home Run to Give Sox Lead vs. Detroit Tigers

Boston Red Sox slugger Adam Duvall helped the Red Sox overcome a 3-1 deficit on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers, smashing a three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to give the Red Sox a 6-3 lead. The home run came off of Tigers reliever Jose Cisnero.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Adam Duvall continues to be hot, smashing a three-run home run on Thursday against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park.

The home run took a 3-3 tie and turned into a 6-3 Red Sox lead in the top of the sixth inning. At one point, the Sox trailed Detroit 3-1.

The home run came off of Tigers reliever Jose Cisnero, who also recently gave up a game-tying home run to Yordan Alvarez of the Astros.

This home run was on a 95 mph fastball and flew way out to left center. It would have been a home run in all 30 ballparks.

It was the third home run of the season for Duvall, who now also has 12 RBIs and a 1.561 OPS.

He signed a one-year deal with the Red Sox in the offseason after spending the last year-plus with the Atlanta Braves. He hit 38 homers in 2021 with the Braves and Marlins, and the goal is that he can be the next Hunter Renfroe for the Red Sox, a guy who came in and stayed a year and hit 30-plus homers.

At the time of this posting, the Red Sox are up 6-3 in the top of the seventh inning. In addition to Duvall's heroics, Rafael Devers has homered for the Sox, and has also doubled in a run off the wall.

The game was started by Chris Sale for the Sox, who gave up three earned runs in five innings while striking out seven.

For the Tigers, the game was started by Spencer Turnbull, who was charged with five earned runs in 5.2 innings. Two of the three runs that scored on the Duvall homer were charged to Turnbull.

Both teams entered play on Thursday at 2-4.
