Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo had one of the more bizarre walk-off hits you'll ever see on Tuesday night, and then had one of the more colorful reactions you'll ever see on live television.

So, the Red Sox beat the Twins on Tuesday night by a score of 5-4. Verdugo hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 10th inning to win the game, but the celebration was delayed while umpires reviewed the call to see if the ball was fair.

It was, but it was a really odd play. When Verdugo hit the ball, it almost clearly seemed as if it was going to go into the right field seats in foul territory, but it blew back in play and hit just underneath the "Pesky Pole" in right field.

After the game, Verdugo caught up with NESN television reporter Jahmai Webster to talk about the game, and he couldn't quite contain his excitement, dropping an "f bomb."

Verdugo, the main piece acquired in the Mookie Betts trade to the Dodgers in 2020, is starting to come into his own during his fourth year in Boston.

He's currently hitting .348 with one home run and 7 RBI. He also has posted an .880 OPS. For his career, he's a .289 hitter with 45 homers and 208 RBIs.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora challenged Verdugo in the offseason to play stronger and be more impactful, and thusfar, he's done that for the Red Sox, who are now even for the season at 9-9.

In addition to Verdugo's heroics, Chris Sale was excellent in this game, striking out 11 over six innings.

The two teams will play again tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. ET.
