WATCH: Shohei Ohtani of Los Angeles Angels Hits Another Massive Home Run
Another day, another impressive feat for Shohei Ohtani.
The Los Angeles Angels star hit his sixth home run of the season on Wednesday night against the Oakland Athletics. The Angels went on to win the game, 11-3, and are now 13-12 on the season.
Ohtani's home run came in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Angels already up 9-3. The home run came off of righty Chad Smith and was hit off a fastball at the bottom of the zone. You can see the home run below.
Ohtani went 2-5 on the day and is now hitting .261 with the six home runs and 16 RBI. He has three stolen bases and has posted an .819 OPS.
For his career, Ohtani is a .267 hitter with 133 home runs and 358 RBI. He has a lifetime OPS of .883.
Of course, with Ohtani, the story doesn't end at the plate. The most talented player of our generation, Ohtani is also a sensation on the mound. He's current 3-0 with a 0.64 ERA. He has 38 strikeouts in 28 innings for the Angels and has posted a WHIP of 0.82.
At one game over .500, the Angels are in third place in the American League West. They are ahead of the A's (5-20) and Mariners (11-13) and behind the Astros (14-11) and Rangers (14-10).
The Angels are seeking their playoff win since 2009 and are trying to avoid the difficult decision of whether or not to trade Ohtani. If they aren't in playoff position, they may have to do just that at the deadline.
The Angels will wrap up a series with the A's at 4:07 p.m. ET on Thursday.
