Chicago White Sox' 2023 Official Regular Season Schedule
The Chicago White Sox are now less than two months away from Opening Day.
The White Sox will open the season in Houston at Minute Maid Park, playing a four-game series against the reigning World Series champion Houston Astros.
The Sox will play their home opener Mon., April 3 against the San Francisco Giants, before hitting the road once again, to play the Pirates in Pittsburgh and the Twins in Minnesota.
For the first time ever, the White Sox will play a series against each of the other 29 Major League Baseball teams. All 30 teams will play a series against each other, for the first time in baseball history. The hope is that it will generate more fan interest, as star players from the opposite league will appear at the city's home ballpark every other year. White Sox fans will get a chance to see Bryce Harper and the 2022 National League champion Philadelphia Phillies, when the Phillies come to town in mid-April.
The schedule change will also provide help to teams that play in hypercompetitive divisions. It will not aid teams like the White Sox, who might be playing in the American League's weakest division, the American League Central, in 2023.
The White Sox are coming off a season in which they finished 81-81, right at .500. The 2022 White Sox underperformed and failed to live up to new expectations. Under new manager Pedro Grifol, the club hopes to return to the postseason and challenge the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins for the AL Central title. In 2021, the White Sox won the AL Central for the first time since 2008.
Here's a look at the White Sox' entire schedule for the 2023 season:
