Colorado Rockies' 2024 Regular Season Schedule, Opening Day Opponent Announced
The entire 2024 MLB regular season schedule dropped on Thursday, confirming several big series for the Colorado Rockies.
Colorado will face the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 28 for Opening Day, riding the four-game road series right into a three-game trip to face the Chicago Cubs. The Rockies' home opener is scheduled for April 5 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Later that month, the Rockies will head down to Mexico City for a two-game series against the Houston Astros. Colorado last played a game in Mexico back in 1999, when the club opened the season against the San Diego Padres in Monterrey.
The 2024 Mexico City series was initially announced by MLB on Wednesday. The other international series will feature the Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers in Seoul, Korea, and the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies in London, England.
As for the new information that came out Thursday, the Rockies' interleague road trips will be to the Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics, Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers.
Colorado will host several American League teams at Coors Field throughout the season as well, including the Rays, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Guardians, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles.
The Rockies will close out the 2024 season with a pair of three-game home series against the St. Louis Cardinals and Dodgers.
Colorado's 2023 season has left much to be desired thus far, with the team sitting at 34-57 coming out of the All-Star break. The Rockies are on pace to finish under .500 for the fifth year in a row and the 11th time in the last 13 years.
The club has 71 games left on its slate this season to turn that around, but it boasts the most difficult remaining strength of schedule in the majors, per Tankathon.
The Rockies will return to play Friday at home against the Yankees. First pitch is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. ET.
