Miami Marlins' 2023 Official Regular Season Schedule
The Miami Marlins are now less than two months away from Opening Day.
The Marlins will open the 2023 regular season on the road in New York, playing a four-game series against the Mets at Citi Field. They will then travel to Minnesota for a three-game series against the Twins.
The Marlins will play their home opener Thurs., April 6, when they host the Mets in Miami. Then, the reigning National League champion Philadelphia Phillies will come to town.
For the first time ever, the Marlins will play a series against each of the other 29 Major League Baseball teams. All 30 teams will play a series against each other, for the first time in baseball history. The hope is that it will generate more fan interest, as star players from the opposite league will appear at the city's home ballpark every other year. Marlins fans will get a chance to see Los Angeles Angels stars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, when the Angels come to town in late-May.
The schedule change will also provide help to teams that play in hypercompetitive divisions. The Marlins play in an extremely competitive National League East. Both the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets won 101 games last year, while the third-place Philadelphia Phillies reached the World Series.
The downside to the change is it means that rivals will play each other less.
The Marlins are coming off a 69-93 season, in which they finished fourth in the National League East. They have had an active offseason however, adding Luis Arraez, Jean Segura and Johnny Cueto, while trading Pablo Lopez to the Minnesota Twins. They hope to make a move up in a highly competitive division in 2023.
Here's a look at the Marlins' entire schedule for the 2023 season:
