The Philadelphia Phillies' 2023 Official Regular Season Schedule
The Philadelphia Phillies are now less than two months away from Opening Day.
The Phillies will open the 2023 regular season at Globe Field in Arlington, Texas, taking on the Texas Rangers. They will then travel to the Bronx for a showdown with the New York Yankees.
The Phillies' home opener will be Thurs., April 6 against the Cincinnati Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Then, the Miami Marlins will come to town, before the Phillies hit the road once again.
For the first time ever, the Phillies will play a series against each of the other 29 Major League Baseball teams. All 30 teams will play a series against each other, for the first time in baseball history. The hope is that it will generate more fan interest, as star players from the opposite league will appear at the city's home ballpark every other year. Phillies fans will get a chance to see Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout play in Philadelphia in late-August.
The schedule change will also provide help to teams that play in hypercompetitive divisions. The Phillies play in an extremely competitive National League East. Both the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets won 101 games last year, while the third-place Phillies reached the World Series.
The downside to the change is it means that rivals will play each other less. The Phillies and Braves used to play a minimum of 18 regular season games against each other. This season, they'll play each other 13 times, with their final series coming in mid-September.
The Phillies are coming off an 87-win season in which they reached the World Series. After signing free agent Trea Turner, they hope to return to the Fall Classic in 2023, and win the World Series this time around.
Here's a look at the Phillies' entire schedule for the 2023 season:
