ESPN's Mike Coppinger reports that Tyson Fury suffered a cut above his eye while preparing for the bout with Oleksandr Usyk. The wound required stitches, and as a result, the title unification bout has been postponed.
Make no mistake, the plan is for the fight take place at some point. There are significant paydays to be had under the watch of Saudi Arabia's Chairman of General Authority for Entertainment, Turki Alalshikh. He is said to be a huge fan of the sweet science, and it's hard to imagine he isn't eager to see Fury return to full health and be ready to roll.
There is no word on a new date at this time, but for now, the heavyweight focus shifts to a March 8 showdown between former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua. In his quest to eventually vie for undisputed gold himself, Joshua, a former world boxing champion, looks to take down "The Predator."
