Brendan Schaub Shares Advice For Alex Volkanovski Following UFC 294 Loss: "Just Chill, Dude"
Brendan Schaub has some advice for Alex Volkanovski after his head kick KO loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294.
Volkanovski, the reigning UFC featherweight champion, stepped in on short notice to challenge Islam Makhachev for the lightweight gold at UFC 294. This was a rematch from their highly competitive fight back in February. The rematch ended up being a quick KO victory for Makhachev. He landed a head kick that dropped "The Great," and finished the fight with ground-and-pound.

Fans were concerned after an emotional Alex Volkanovski admitted that he falls into a dark place when he doesn't have fights lined up. He has expressed his desire to put his featherweight gold at stake against Ilia Topuria as soon as January, despite the quick turnaround coming off a KO loss.
During a post-UFC 294 edition of "The Schaub Show," Brendan Schaub advised Volkanovski to give himself time to heal before taking another fight.
"He's the greatest featherweight to ever do it," Schaub said. "So, once he beats Ilia, which again, is not the easiest fight. That's why I don't agree with fighting in January after getting head kick KO'ed. No, no, just do it in March. I know that's still a quick turnaround. Just chill, dude. We got to figure out how to occupy your mind and your body so you're not just fighting nonstop. That can't be the way to do it."
